Meet MR. ROBINSON

Micheal L. Robinson Sr., born in Waterloo, Iowa, is a dedicated human services professional with over two decades of experience supporting at-risk youth, young adults, and families. He is the founder of the Back2Basics Youth Empowerment Program, which provides innovative initiatives such as gardening, camping and fishing programs to teach life skills and self-sufficiency, and the founder of Heal the Family Counseling, which he grew from a startup to an organization of over 40 counselors serving nearly 500 families. Robinson currently serves as a Program Coordinator at Four Oaks and has held various roles including Family Advocate, Youth Counselor, and Educational Specialist, consistently demonstrating leadership in program development and community engagement. He has also led impactful initiatives such as the annual “Take Back Our Community” back to school bash, and a in-school empowerment program entitled “Manpower”. He holds an Associate of Arts degree in Criminology from Hawkeye Community College and a Bachelor of Science in Criminal Justice with a minor in Psychology from Upper Iowa University, along with extensive training in youth development, crisis intervention, and leadership, all of which support his ongoing commitment to strengthening individuals and communities.
