Back 2 Basics believes that young people need to develop competencies and skills to ready themselves for overall wellness, work, and adult life. Competencies range from cognitive, social, emotional, vocational, and cultural. With these competencies, youth and young adults are in a better position to successfully overcome adversity; as well as, to establish and accomplish personal goals. To develop these competencies and skills, Back 2 Basics offers a variety of positive activities and events. Back 2 Basics prides itself on providing opportunities for its children and families and making every moment a teachable moment. Every event we provide for our young people has layers for them to practice their skill sets, test the theories of right and wrong in practical settings, and receive immediate feedback for their choices from a variety of different sources.
